Kajsa Ekis Ekman was awarded the 2010 Robespierre Prize with the following justification:
“Kajsa Ekis Ekman is a fearless young writer who dares to go against the flow and with razor-sharp analyses and an infallible class-consciousness takes a stand against exploitation and oppression of people. She deliberately relies on the legacy of the enlightenment and the labor movement’s traditions in the struggle for human liberation. Kajsa Ekis Ekman is refractory, independent and radical in the same spirit as the young Jan Myrdal and more than meets the criteria for the prize.”
