Sara Beischer was awarded the 2015 Robespierre Prize with the following justification:
“For a young authorship which goes against the individualistic flow and with pride, love and respect gives voice to the working class and the invisible heroes of everyday life. With a firm gaze, she portrays a young person’s journey from seeing the work as a necessary evil to professional pride, empathy and dedication. Her depiction of school, which is supposed to be for everyone, but where class and origin play such a big part, gives us hope when she shows that nothing – after all – is completely predetermined. Sara Beischer’s novels are vital contributions to a proletarian literature for our time.”
