Lasse Diding acted as master of ceremonies and commented on all the writings about the award and the controversy it had created during the spring. The award was presented to Mattias Gardell by Jan Myrdal, who also held a speech that he had given the title “About knowing the age of time”. The central figure of the award ceremony, Mattias Gardell, spoke for an hour about Return of Torture, one of the topics highlighted in the prize justification. After his talk, Gardell also responded to the audience’s questions for half an hour. The festivities were rounded off with dinner at Hotell Gästis.
